Working as a family to cultivate, harvest, and produce small lots of wine that focus on the terroir of the Stags Leap District.
Will you still make wine?
Yes, our family has retained over 30 acres in the Stags Leap District. In 2011 we crushed fruit from our back property separately at Folio, a custom crush facility in Carneros. We will remain in the wine business as a family with the Steltzner Vineyards Label.
What happened to your tasting room?
In February 2012 we sold the winery building, production facility and 49 acres to Plump Jack Management Group. They will reopen the property as Odette Estate. We retained 30 acres in the Stags Leap District and will continue to make wine.
Can I visit Steltzner Vineyards?
Currently we are closed to the public and are not offering any tastings or tours. With advanced notice customers will be able to pickup wine orders from our new offices in Yountville. We will be planning some special events featuring our wines at our Estate in Stags Leap District. Please join our mailing list to be kept in the loop for these exclusive events.
Will you ever have a tasting room?
We are currently looking into the possibility of a shared tasting room locally. Our long term plans may include a small tasting facility located at our Stags Leap District Estate.

What will happen to you wine club?
Steltzner Vineyards Underground Wine Club will continue on this year with no immediate changes. We will still have our Argentine Asado themed wine club party this October over looking our Pool Block Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard.
Did you sell the brand and mailing list?
We did not sell the brand/label Steltzner Vineyards. We have retained the brand and all mailing lists. We have only sold physical assets.
Who is you new winemaker?
We are excited to announce we are working with a consulting winemaker, Bob Pepi. Bob is a long time family friend and a truly talented pioneer here in the Napa Valley. Bob has been making wines for over 25 years. We welcome him on board and look forward to having him craft wines from our exceptional Estate in Stags Leap District.
What grapes do you still grow?
Going forward we will continue to grow Cabernet Sauvigon as well as small amounts of Sangiovese, Petit Verdot & Malbec.
Will Richard Steltzner still be involved?
Richard will still be involved overseeing the vineyards alongside his son, Justin. He will also be making more time to hunt, fish and travel with his wife. Day to day operations will be run out of our offices in Yountville by Allison Steltzner-Sharp and Controller, Rebecca Rose.

Estate Cabernet Franc, Estate Merlot, Estate Malbec, Estate Pinotage, Estate Petit Verdot, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Pool Block, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Martini Clone, Estate Merlot Port. Also we have available our Oak Knoll Chardonnay and our Napa Valley Claret.
In addition, we also have a limited amounts of 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon large formats available in 1.5L, 3L, 6L, 9L, 18L & 27 Liter bottles.
When will your newest release be available?
Wines made by Bob Pepi will be released Summer 2013 which will include our new flagship Cabernet Sauvignon. We will continue to release several wines that were made utilizing grapes from our front parcel that has now been sold.
Will you change any distribution?
We look forward to working with all of our current wholesalers in place. We will continue forward and release the 2010 Claret in late fall 2012.
