Garnet color. Aromas of raspberries, slate. Sweet fruit with gentle tannins through the pallet. Black Cherry and earthy mushroom with a bit of graphite on the finish. Vanilla notes from barrel ageing.
This is a blend from several vineyards around Napa Valley including Coombsville AVA, Oak Knoll AVA and St. Helena AVA. Our goal to make a approachable style of Cabernet Sauvignon at a reasonable price.
Vintage: 2012 is a vintage to watch from the Napa Valley. Although a drier year the growing conditions were ideal in terms of bud break, fruit set and veraison. The quality of grapes and the resulting wines are show stopping.
A blend of several blocks off of our 30 acre estate in the Stags Leap District. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with 45% new oak. A classic Stags Leap profile with nice fruit mid pallet and silky tannin structure. Drinking well once the cork is popped and very food friendly.
One of the most intriguing and high quality Malbec to come from Napa Valley ever. Veteran winemaker Bob Pepi harnessed his experience in Argentina with the incredible quality of fruit from our Estate to create an extremely compelling single varietal bottling of Malbec. Inky with dark berries and plum notes. The nose has a floral note to it with a savory meaty finish.
“An iron fist in a velvet glove”; a classic descriptor for Cabernets from Stags Leap District, and for our Pool Block Cabernet Sauvignon. This big, rich cabernet has a lively entry with moderate tannins. Hints of brown sugar, anise undertones, mixed with dark fruit give this wine complexity
and structure to age gracefully. Pool Block is a small 3-acre parcel located directly below the Stags Leap District Palisades, which produces our favorite Cabernet. This is an older vineyard in a bench land area that produces fruit of great intensity.
Inky dark and deep color. Violets and dark crushed slate followed by red fruit. Chewy tannin and great mouthfeel. This vineyard is just under one acre with soils that are shallow and rocky creating a very expressive wine.
