How Ground Temperature-Controlled Shipping Works
The process is designed to keep temperature-sensitive products protected, especially when shipping to warmer areas.
- Friday pickup: Temperature-controlled orders are shipped every Friday on a temperature-controlled truck.
- Temperature-controlled hub: The shipment travels to one of four specialized hubs located throughout the United States.
- Additional cooling: Once it arrives at the hub, the package is processed and ice packs are added to help maintain the appropriate temperature. Final delivery: The package is then shipped by UPS or FedEx Ground and typically arrives within 1–2 days.
- Tracking updates: Throughout the process, you’ll receive email notifications with tracking information and updates on your shipment’s progress.
Why does it take a little longer?
This method may add a few days to the overall shipping time, but it provides an extra layer of temperature protection. By routing the shipment through a temperature-controlled facility and adding ice packs before final delivery, the process is designed to create a safer shipping environment—particularly for destinations experiencing warm weather.
